Hubpages

What is Hubpages, exactly? And what purpose does it serve? Hubpages is a website (found here that is quite similar to Qassia. Hubpages serves as a resource center for original content. There are many dynamics to Hubpages that I will attempt to explain. First off, you have to create a user id to fully participate in the Hubpages community. You don't have to have a user id to comment or view things, but you do gain more access to things when you have a user id so I recommend you get one! Once you have a user id, you are given a "hub score." This score goes up and down depending primarily on user activity. If you write more original content (known as intel here on Qassia), otherwise known as "hubs," you get a higher score. BUT, these hubs need to be of good quality. If they aren't, they it's likely that people won't visit your hubs or will visit them and vote a "thumbs down" due to poor content. Other ways in which your hub score can be affected are through the number of contributions you have on hubpages. If you are active in the forums, frequently writing comments on other hubs and interacting with other hubbers, you are more likely to have higher scores. Hubpages is a great web 2.0 website with a high degree of user-driven content. It also ranks well on search engines such as google, msn and yahoo.
