Loudoun County The County of Loudoun has grown tremendously in the past 10 years. Actually, within the past three years it has been labeled as one of the fastest growing counties in America. Not only that, it is the third richest county in the United States. Here are a few points of interest about Loudoun County: It's capitol is the town of Leesburg. The population at the end of 2006 was 268,000+ There are over 100,000 housing units in Loudoun County. There are no interstates that go through it Route 15 which divides the county east to west, runs up and down the east coast! There are ZERO farms privately owned (just sold the last one recently). It borders both West Virginia and Maryland Loudoun County is close to Washington D.C. geographically, so many people who live in Loudoun commute to jobs in the District of Columbia. If you're thinking of visiting Loudoun County, there is a large and ever-increasing tourist draw. There are historical sites here (Like old president's houses!), and tons of things to do and see.
