The job of a wedding videographer
So what exactly does a wedding videographer do? Well, here are some things that a wedding videographer does. Keep these things in mind when interviewing a wedding videographer for your wedding! First and foremost, they produce video of your special day! Any joe-schmoe can do a decent job at this, but hopefully your videographer will be a pro at this! Also, they typically bring along several helpers to capture multiple shots of events during the day. Secondly, they'll typically mic you and your fiancee up. This means that wherever you go, you're being recorded! Don't panic, though, as they won't add any embarrassing moments or comments into the final draft of the video. Those comments about the new mother-in-law won't be saved to DVD forever. Thirdly, a good videographer will typically conduct interviews of attendees. This can be a very special part of the final DVD as you'll get to hear a TON of video interviews with family and friends' well wishes for your new union! My wife and I were especially thankful of the video interviews we found on the DVD. We didn't even know they were occurring and found out about them months later when we got the final cut of the video! Finally, a good videographer will stay out of your way as he/she is doing the job! Think of the expectations you have of your photographer staying out of the way and duplicate that for your wedding videographer. They should be there for all of the toasts, kisses, dances, "I do's" and so on, but they need to be out-of-sight and out-of-mind! |
