Wedding Videographer - typical costs
Wedding videographers' rates are different depending on who you choose. Some charge per hour, some charge an overall fee for the wedding. Typically, those who charge an overall fee for the wedding will add fees if you ask them to do something other than record the actual wedding. In other words, they might charge a flat fee for the ceremony and then another, separate fee for the reception, interviews, and so on. A good way to determine if you're getting good value for what you pay for in a wedding videographer is asking him or her for previous work. If they've been doing it for some time, they should be able to give you some examples of the work they've done. Then you can ask them how much it would cost for them to do whatever it is that you saw and liked in their sample videos. Ultimately, the best way to determine if you're getting good value is to go with your gut feeling. Friends might tell you what to expect in terms of cost, or you might find prices online, but if you interview a videographer and like what they do and feel their costs are reasonable, then go with them! If, on the other hand, you don't like their price, don't worry- there are PLENTY of others out there ready and willing to do the job for you! Finally, be sure to get agreements in writing. This is especially necessary if you don't know the videographer from before! If you're going into this completely new, be sure to write down all expectations and costs before the wedding date! That way, you both know what to expect and what the costs will be! |
